Regain Your Body Confidence

Your moods reflect your lifestyle
If you’re not doing some sort of fitness every day, and you have fallen into the habit of overeating, then you will find that your body will become a reflection of this. Your moods will also show everyone that you don’t like yourself very much and that you feel terrible about life.

Relax and take your time
If you were a celebrity you could afford a personal trainer and a dietician, and your professional obligation to the company you work for and the public would continually motivate you to lose weight. While it may seem ideal, be thankful that you do not have that kind of pressure. Instead, you can relax and take your time losing weight and being happy.

Change you’re self-talk
What you think about yourself plays a large part in how you feel about your body. Some days you feel great, whereas other days you do not feel as great. Practice waking up each day looking in the mirror and saying ‘today is a great day’.

Drink, Drink, Drink
It is vital that you begin your day with water. If your body is not hydrated it will not perform to its maximum capacity, and you will find yourself losing focus and concentration. Practice drinking at least 3 liters of water each day, starting today.

Snack Time
For a flavorsome snack there’s nothing like your favorite sweet or savory treat. However most people find it difficult to stop at a little bit; Instead of reaching for this favourite, replace it with raw fruits and vegetables. These will provide you with extra energy throughout the day and will assist in burning kilojoules faster when you workout. As an added bonus, they also cleanse the bowel and keep the skin looking great.

You’re Thoughts
Be aware if your thoughts about your self are mostly negative. Individuals are able to take a fair amount of mental abuse from other people, but sooner or later they will either fight back or run away. The same thing will occur if you’re continually feeding your mind negative thoughts about yourself. The negativity within your mind will begin to create pain and disease within your body, or it will start to drain your energy and pull away from other people, mentally and emotionally. To assist you with your negative thoughts, read inspirational books, surround yourself with positive, supportive people, and think and say words and phrases that will empower you.  “I can”, “I will”, “I’ll do my personal best”, “I’ve never done it before but I am up for the challenge”, “I’m scared but let’s do this adventure”,  etc. Sure, you’ll have great days and not so great days; just remember to start your day by saying nice things about you.

Encourage yourself
It’s easy to beat yourself up when you don’t do something right or you break down over something that was said or done. Practice encouraging yourself like you would a child, with nurturing and supportive words to keep yourself going. Remember that you need this encouragement and love just as much as a child does.

Practice saying thank you
When someone compliments you sincerely, practice giving them a strong smile and saying thank you, even if you struggle to believe them at the time. Compliments are gifts from others. Learn to accept them with kindness and an open heart. You will find that you’ll start to feel more attractive to yourself.

Keep fit for a healthy lifestyle
Stop measuring your waist and standing on scales! Instead, walk hills, climb stairs and explore children’s playground equipment to see how far you can push yourself before you find that you’re out of breath or can no longer continue. Use this as your starting gauge and attempt to beat it each time. Keeping fit does not require long distance runs or working out for hours at the gym. Walking, playing Frisbee, kicking a ball, jumping on a trampoline, or dancing with your family or friends also provide you with the chance to practice your healthy lifestyle every day. If you desire an individual fitness program, go for it, but remember that even without these programs, your life is filled with healthy lifestyle choices each day.

Ah, the mirror
Praise yourself in front the mirror, do not practice the habit of telling yourself that you look bad that you need to lose weight or that you hate your body? What you say and think is what you get. Change your words; change your view of yourself. Reclaim your confidence and love for yourself. Start your day with these words: ‘I am who I am at this moment. If I want to see change I will change now, not tomorrow. I love me for me, and that is AWESOME’. From now on brush your teeth, brush your hair and brush up on your positive affirmations about yourself in front of the mirror.
